Meet the Staff

Peyton Wu earned their Bachelors of Arts in History and a Certificate in LGBTQ Studies at the University of Maryland College Park and their Masters of Science in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Miami University. Prior to joining what is now Identity, Student Engagement and Access (ISEA), (previously Multicultural and First Generation Student Support) in the summer of 2019 as the associate director, Peyton served as a program coordinator within the Office of Ethnic Programs and Services at the University of Cincinnati. They transitioned into the role of director of the office in January 2021. Peyton is passionate about equity, inclusion, social justice, and leadership and identity development. Peyton’s other interests include traveling, reading, watching sports, and exploring and eating different types of food.

Naomi Ashley (she/her) joined the Office of Identity, Engagement, and Student Access (ISEA) as Assistant Director of Programming and First-Generation Student Support in July 2022. Naomi is committed to supporting students of color, first-generation college students, and LGBTQIA+ students through education, programs, and community building as they work towards achieving their academic, career, leadership, and personal goals. Naomi joined the ISEA team after serving the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign as the Coordinator for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion. While in this role, she provided support to several identity-based affinity groups, and informed internal and external marketing campaigns associated with diversity, equity, and inclusion in Athletics.

A native of Hamilton, ON, Canada, Naomi earned her Master’s in Counseling in Higher Education (M. Ed.) with a Sports Administration Certificate from Providence College in 2021. During her studies, Naomi simultaneously held positions as the Graduate Assistant of Public Safety at Providence College and the Graduate Intern of Inclusive Excellence in Athletics at Bryant University. Naomi completed her undergraduate studies at Bryant University, where she earned a dual degree in General Biology (B.S.) and Applied Psychology (B.A.) in 2019. She was also a member of the women’s basketball team and a part of several multicultural student organizations, such as W.O.K.E. Athletes and 4MILE (Multicultural & International Leadership Experience).

Naomi operates from an intersectional lens that acknowledges the interdependent systems of discrimination and/or disadvantage and works to incorporate that approach into bettering the experiences of underserved and underrepresented students at Clark University.
